Why Is My iPhone 13 Pro Max Screen White?

Why Is My iPhone 13 Pro Max Screen White

Sometimes, the screen of your iPhone Pro Max turns entirely blank and white, which I also experienced and is a sign of a serious problem known as “white screen death.”

In this case, the display becomes visibly unresponsive, but your device is still working, and you can hear the navigation voice and feel vibrations. Restarting your device is impossible because you cannot see anything on your display.

Let me take you to explore the reasons:

  • Software Bugs
  • Jailbreak Failure
  • Hardware Failure

Let’s discuss the crucial tips to fix it:

4 Tips To Resolve White Screen on iPhone

1. Double Tap to fix the White Screen of Death

One happened to my mobile, and I thought it was the white screen of death. However, it could just be an illusion, and your iPhone Pro Max may not be dealing with the bright screen of death at all.

Sometimes, objects appear larger on your display because you mistakenly switched on the magnifying option.

Therefore, I highly recommend you verify the issue before taking any steps. To test it, simply double-tap on your phone’s display with three fingers and repeat this process a few times.

If every object appears larger than usual, this is a magnified problem.

  • First, go to Settings and then “Accessibility.” Here you will find “Zoom”, and finally, turn off the Zoom option to repair the bright display of death issues on the phone, “Diable Zoom.”

2. Force Restart the iPhone

Sometimes, restarting your iPhone may not solve the issue, particularly when the display remains bright, which is commonly known as the “white screen of death.”

At this stage, your display becomes unresponsive, and restarting fails at this point.

It is time to do a “Hard Reset” or “Force Restart,” as it helps you to restart your phone without using the display. Below are given different steps for force restarting depending on the model of your smartphone:

  • First, the volume up and down button should be pressed and released.
  • Hold down the side (power) button until the Apple logo displays.
  • When the Apple logo appears, release the side button immediately.

Holding both sides (power) and volume below buttons simultaneously and releasing them when the Apple logo displays.

3. Restore iPhone from Backup

Have you tried restarting your phone multiple times but still seeing a white screen? I suggest you be cautious as this process may put your phone at risk, and repeatedly restarting your device could lead to data loss.

To reduce this risk, restoring your phone from backup is recommended.

Before starting the restoration process, put your phone in recovery mode and then use your computer to complete it.

If you are on a Mac, the Finder app is useful. If you have an older Mac or Windows user, iTunes is a suitable application.

To restore your smartphone through recovery mode, follow the given steps:

  • Using USB wires, link your phone to your Mac/PC.
  • On your PC, launch Finder or iTunes.
  • Now, on your smartphone, go to the recovery mode.

  • Alternatively, you can choose the “Update” button to achieve the most recent iOS version.

4. Seek Professional Help For Display Repairing

Apple’s phones can strongly sustain display damage even if dropped from a high level or hit badly. I suggest you keep a keen eye on your display for any scratches or damages.

If your iPhone’s screen turns white for any reason, the bright display may indicate an external or internal problem. It’s a sign that either the issue is with the display or due to the internal connections.

Pressing too hard on the display can cause damage, particularly to the OLED display found on the latest mobile. It can result in individual pixels malfunctioning or the display turning white.

  • Look closely at the display to check for any apparent scratches, spots, or distortions.
  • You must take care of any physical damage to make the display workable again.
  • Seeking expert repair services is advisable if your smartphone’s display is still bright and any physical damage is visible.
  • Third-party repair facilities with a good reputation or authorized Apple service providers could inspect the damage and offer appropriate fixes.

How do I Fix a Green Line on an iPhone Screen?

When you tried to unlock your mobile today, did you have a chance to see any green lines, possibly even more lines, on your mobile’s screen?

If you think it is a software issue, then I believe you must update your IOS or restart your mobile. But it will fix it temporarily and won’t permanently; maybe there isn’t a software issue behind the green lines issue.

Usually, it’s a hardware issue with the display itself. If you are seeking a long-term solution, replacing your mobile display as soon as possible is the best option.

However, we can help you to determine the cause of this issue and offer you an easy technical guide to resolve it:

  • In some cases, during production, the digitizer connector of the mobile was not put correctly on the LCD.
  • This problem could result from the liquid damage.
  • If you slept on your mobile for several hours, dropped it from a big height and your mobile’s display took serious damage.
  •  The internal component could be short-circuited.

Below are two methods given for examining and removing green lines on your smartphone:

1. Check your iPhone for Water Damage

To my knowledge, Apple cell phones are waterproof. But if you see green lines on your device’s display, it indicates that liquid has affected your mobile. At this stage, you simply do it:

  • Remove the SIM card tray via your SIM ejector tool.
  • Examine the SIM card tray for any water droplets on its surface or feel moisture with your hands.

remove sim and tray

Apple phones contain built-in liquid contact indicators. When these indicators come in contact with any liquid, they change color.

These detectors often turn red when water comes into your mobile. These indicators are shown on the SIM card tray or charging port.

Here’s how to verify if the Apple phone’s LCDs are white or red:

  • First, remove the smartphone’s SIM card tray and observe the color of the indicator (LCI) on this tray.
  • If the LCD is too bright, there is no water damage. If it is red, there is potential water damage.
  • If you suspect water damage on your phone, turn it off immediately. Place it in a dry area and avoid charging until all the moisture drains.

2. Reset iPhone Settings

For some users, this problem is solved by resetting their smartphone settings.

To reset smartphone settings, follow these steps:

  • Go to “Settings” and Click “General,” then choose “Transfer or Reset iPhone.”

  • Press “Reset” and select “All Settings” to reset the settings.
  • If asked, enter your device’s passcode.

Restart your device and check whether the green lines have been reduced on your smartphone.

Conclusion

Many users like me find it hard to understand the exact reason for the screen problem on the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Although some typical causes like software issues, jailbreak, and hardware failures are well-known, it’s challenging to pinpoint the exact reason for the occurrence of the white screen of death.

This issue is complex as the exact source of this problem is unclear. Before developing any strategy, it is necessary to identify the reason for the issue.

It could be due to water damage, falling from a height, or expanding display magnification.

The recommended solutions I also used for the bright display damage are forcing restarting your device, double-taping to enlarge the display, and restoring from backup.

However, if there is a risk of any physical damage, it is recommended that you seek assistance from an authorized Apple service provider or professional repair shop.
